Tour Details

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Qarshi, followed by an immersive exploration of the rich tapestry of history that this southern Uzbek city offers, spanning from the time of Tamerlane through the Soviet period.

The first stop on our private tour will be at Shuhrat Kurgan, or the Fortress of Glory, a striking memorial honoring World War II. The impressive concrete sculptures here depict the valiant spirit and sacrifices made by the people. Following this, our journey takes us to the Qarshi Regional Museum, home to over 2,700 years of historical treasures. The exhibits narrate tales of caravans and kingdoms, highlighting the ancient trade routes that once flourished in this region.

Next, we will proceed to the Bekmir Madrasah, which holds the distinction of being the sole female Qur’anic school in Central Asia. The ambiance within continues to echo the diligent studies of young women in fields such as religion, poetry, and astronomy. Our visit will then lead us to the Kashkadarya Craft Center, where you can soak in the authentic local ambiance and even try on a traditional duppi cap.

Afterward, we will appreciate the Odina Mosque, constructed from fired brick and adorned with ornate domes, dating back to 1386. Local lore suggests that it may have connections to a network of tunnels once utilized by the emirs of Bukhara during urgent times. Remarkably, this site began its life as a palace, infusing the visit with a rich historical significance that is sure to impress.

The tour will continue to the Qarshi Sardoba, an ancient reservoir that provided a vital water supply in the surrounding arid landscape. As we delve deeper into the city's history, we will encounter the remains of the Khuja Kurban Madrasah, which suffered destruction during the anti-religious movements of the 20th century—a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by Uzbekistan's cultural legacy.

Our exploration will lead us to the Qilichbay Madrasah, an establishment that harkens back to the era of Said Alim Khan, followed by a brief interlude at Tutak Darvoza, a modest Soviet-era entrance that marks the city's transition into a new chapter.

Culminating our journey, we will traverse the Amir Temur Bridge, an architectural testament built in 1583 under the command of the legendary conqueror Tamerlane. This bridge holds the title of the oldest currently operational bridge in Central Asia, and stepping upon its stones feels like crossing through a temporal gateway.

At the end of our adventure, we will make our way back to your hotel, effectively concluding our private tour that spans approximately 4 to 5 hours.
