Description

The stunning Rambouillet Castle has played a significant role in political discussions throughout France's past. You can explore its rich history firsthand by purchasing a ticket.

Ticket Information

Experience magnificent chandeliers, refined rooms, and opulent furnishings that reflect the lavish lifestyle of those who have resided in the royal palace of Rambouillet. Dating back to the 18th century, it stands as one of the most exquisite monuments in the Île-de-France region.

This castle, under the ownership of Louis XVI since 1783, has hosted many notable French figures, including Napoleon I, Charles de Gaulle, and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. Your ticket permits you to wander through the imposing halls and rooms of this palace at your leisure.

While visiting the castle, you will uncover the fascinating history of numerous international summits held here, such as the inaugural G7 meeting in 1975 and the peace negotiations regarding Kosovo in 1999.

The ticket also grants you access to adjacent buildings: the dairy dedicated to Marie Antoinette and the House of Shells. The dairy, a gift from King Louis XVI to his beloved wife, celebrates her affinity for dairy products. Meanwhile, the House of Shells serves as a quaint guest house adorned with delicate shells.

Additionally, your entry includes access to the gardens surrounding Rambouillet Castle, featuring an expansive landscape with numerous flowerbeds and parks, centered around a large ornamental pond, which is dotted with six artificial islands.
