Day 1: Riohacha - Manaure - Los Flamencos Sanctuary

At the predetermined time, we will meet you at your chosen pickup location in Riohacha to commence our journey towards Manaure, a place affectionately known as the 'white bride of Colombia'—you will soon discover the origin of this charming nickname!

Our first destination will be the renowned salt mines of Manaure, a striking region distinguished by its magnificent salt formations and vibrant pink pools. Here, you will gain valuable knowledge regarding the process of salt extraction while overlooking 4200 hectares dedicated to its production.

Afterward, we will enjoy a hearty lunch featuring rice, meat or fish, patacones, and salad. Following our meal, we will proceed to the Los Flamencos Wildlife Sanctuary, a conservation area teeming with these friendly wading birds.

Before returning to Manaure, you will have the opportunity to indulge in a therapeutic salt massage. Have you ever experienced salt therapy? This time-honored tradition has been celebrated for its dermatological benefits and its ability to soothe muscles.

Once re-energized, we'll gather around a beach bonfire to watch the sunset before we make our way back to our accommodation in Manaure for a delicious dinner and a night of restful sleep in preparation for the next day's adventure.

Day 2: Manaure - Wayuu ranchería - Riohacha

After a nutritious breakfast at the hotel, we will set off towards the beaches of Manaure. Around noon, we will enjoy a delightful traditional Colombian lunch.

Later in the afternoon, our journey will take us to a Wayuu ranchería, where you will delve into the customs and way of life of the Wayuu, the largest indigenous group in Colombia. This will provide a unique glimpse into their homes, attire, and craftsmanship.

By 2 pm, we will begin our return journey to Riohacha.

Accommodation and meals

The tour package includes one night at the Brisas del Mar Hotel in Manaure or a similar accommodation. You will also be provided with two breakfasts, two lunches, and one dinner throughout the trip.
