Tour Overview
On the day of our tour, we will convene at the Rotorua Information Center, where our adventure begins. From there, we will embark in our vehicle towards the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, ready to witness the wonders of nature.
Upon reaching the park, our adventure kicks off with a guided hiking experience through the valley. Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, we will navigate through breathtaking landscapes, soaking in the beauty of the exceptional volcanic valley.
As we trek along, take a moment to appreciate the vibrant native forests enveloping us. Our guide will impart fascinating insights into the geothermal phenomena that characterize this region. Established in 1886, this volcanic valley holds the distinction of being the only one formed during written history!
Our hike will lead us to Lake Rotomahana, marking the start of our kayaking segment. Following a brief safety overview, we will embark on our guided kayak expedition, offering an intimate look at geothermal features, from steaming cliffs to expansive waterscapes.
From the kayak, we will be able to appreciate this pristine, safeguarded geothermal marvel. Mirroring the insights from our hiking tour, our guide will narrate stories related to the valley, highlighting its cultural and natural importance in Maori heritage. This is a truly remarkable cultural immersion!
After our kayaking escapade, we will return to Rotorua, concluding our tour approximately five hours later.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at Rotorua Information Center, located at 1167 Fenton Street, Rotorua. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Please note that this activity involves a 2-hour walking route, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
