Pinacoteca, Estação da Luz & Museo da Lingua Portuguesa Tour

During this exploration of São Paulo, we will delve into three captivating museums: the Pinacoteca do Estado, the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, and the historic Estação da Luz.

Tour Overview

The gathering point for the tour is situated just outside the Pinacoteca do Estado, with a meeting time of 10 am.

The Pinacoteca, recognized as one of Brazil's prominent museums, boasts a rich collection of over 10,000 art pieces. We will start by appreciating the architectural elegance of this 19th-century structure before exploring its renowned collection of paintings, sculptures, engravings, and photographs.

Among the remarkable works are the bronze sculptures by Auguste Rodin and the artworks of Almeida Junior. We will pause at the most impressive pieces, examining their significance. Following our guided tour, a break of one hour will be provided for lunch at the Praça da Luz.

Upon reconvening after lunch at the heart of the square, we will visit Estação da Luz, an iconic railway landmark in São Paulo. Here, we will explore the history of Brazil's railway system and its development through the years.

Adjacent to the station lies the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, where we will uncover the origins of the Portuguese language, tracing its journey across South America and its influence in regions of Africa and Asia.

Finally, we will conclude our tour at 2 pm at Praça da Luz.
