Excursion Overview

Gather at the designated time at Caño Hondo Port, conveniently located at the entrance to Los Haitises National Park, and prepare for an unforgettable day immersed in the vibrant landscapes of the Samaná Peninsula.

Our journey begins as we board a boat and navigate the Caño Hondo River, where you'll have the chance to witness the diverse local flora and fauna. While gliding through the lush mangroves, keep an eye out for pelicans perched on the mogotes. Make sure to capture these moments with your camera!

Upon reaching San Lorenzo Bay, we will disembark from the boat and set off to explore Arena and Linea Cave. As you walk through these ancient caves, be on the lookout for intricate pictograms and petroglyphs left by the indigenous inhabitants.

Next, we will visit Cayo Levantado, a breathtaking islet nestled in Samaná Bay. Renowned for its stunning beauty, visitors are often mesmerized by its powdery white sandy beaches and warm, crystal-clear waters that boast rich coral reefs and vibrant tropical fish, making it an ideal spot for snorkelling!

To end our adventure, we will enjoy a satisfying lunch in the vicinity, before we begin our return journey to the starting point, arriving approximately 7.5 hours after departure.
