Georges Clemenceau's House, located in the picturesque area of Pays de la Loire, is a significant site commemorating the influence of the two-term prime minister. His first term was served from 1906 to 1909, followed by another from 1917 to 1920.

With this ticket, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the residence that Clemenceau occupied in 1919, nestled in the scenic location of Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard, the birthplace of this multifaceted politician, who also had a background in medicine and journalism.

One of the house's most captivating elements is its exquisite Impressionist garden, designed with the involvement of renowned artist Claude Monet, a close associate of Clemenceau. A restoration project undertaken in 2006 allowed for the revival of the garden's original plantings, informed by correspondence preserved between the two friends.

Your visit will also lead you to Clemenceau’s office overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a space where he reflected on his pivotal role in history. His substantial writings include insights on critical occurrences during his tenure, notably the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, which outlined the framework for peace following the First World War.

Visiting Hours

The house is open for visits in Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard from Tuesday to Sunday, adhering to the following schedule:

• From May 15 to September 15: open from 10 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 6:30 pm
• From September 16 to May 14: operating from 10 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 5:30 pm

Please note that the last entry is permitted 45 minutes before closing.

Notably, the site will open at 2 pm on September 2, 2026, and on December 24 and 31, final admissions will be at 4 pm.

Complimentary Admission

Entry to Georges Clemenceau’s House is complimentary for:

• Individuals aged 18 to 25 from the European Union.
• Anyone under 18, regardless of nationality.
• Unemployed individuals, people with disabilities and their companions, journalists, architecture students, tourism professionals, military personnel, police forces, and other state security agencies.

Additionally, free admission is granted to all on the first Sunday of each month from January 1 to March 31, and from November 1 to December 31.
