Tour Details
Visiting Salem and not delving into its witchcraft legends is a real crime. Would you like to learn about the history of the Salem witches? At the appointed time, we'll meet at 210 Essex Street to begin the Salem witchcraft tour. Only suitable for the bravest!
We'll go back to colonial America, when there were numerous cases of witchcraft. And where did the most bloody and shocking case in history take place? That's right, in Salem. While we tell you the details of this terrifying chapter, we'll walk to Turner's in Lyceum Hall. This corner was the home of Bridget Bishop, the first woman to be executed during this witch hunt. Did you know that 12 years later, she was declared innocent?
From here, we'll head to the Jonathan Corwin House, one of the key magistrates during the witch trials of 1692. This house is known for having the most chilling atmosphere, as it is said that there have been numerous ghost sightings there.
The Salem witch trials will take us directly to another important location related to these trials, the Ropes Mansion, home of Judge Nathaniel Ropes Jr.. It is said that the ghost of his daughter, Abigail Ropes, wanders through its rooms after suffering a terrible accident in the fireplace.
With our hair standing on end, we'll continue learning about the Salem witches at the Ateneo, where the Great Fire that shook the town in 1914 began. We'll also visit the Salem Inn, where countless cases of paranormal phenomena have been reported, and the Joshua Ward House. Just by admiring its exterior, you can imagine the terrible legends that lie within its walls.
To conclude this tour of Salem's witchcraft, we'll visit Wicked Good Books, the perfect place to continue listening to ghost stories.
After an hour's walk, we'll say goodbye in front of this bookstore. Will you be able to go home without looking back? Good luck...
