Cocora Valley Day Trip + Coffee Farm Visit

Delve into the rich coffee culture of Colombia as well as the stunning vistas of Quindío during this full-day excursion to Cocora Valley. Here, you will meander through forests of wax palms and visit a traditional coffee hacienda to uncover the intricacies of coffee production.

Excursion Overview

We will rendezvous at the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, conveniently located across from Salento's central park, to commence our journey. Our first destination is the breathtaking Cocora Valley, a hallmark of the Colombian coffee region.

Following a scenic 30-minute ride, we will arrive and stroll amongst the towering wax palms, the national tree of Colombia, while soaking in the panoramic views and the vibrant Andean ecosystem.

After approximately two and a half hours exploring this natural wonder, we will make our way back to Salento for a delightful traditional Colombian lunch. This meal typically features beans, white rice, avocado, and a choice of protein prepared in a savory stew.

Once energized, we will head to the Entrebosques coffee farm, where you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the coffee-making process, from bean harvesting to brewing. You’ll walk through the coffee fields, witness the steps of pulping, drying, and roasting, and partake in a guided coffee tasting paired with a dessert.

Our adventure will conclude with a brief panoramic tour of Salento. Starting at the viewpoint, we will stroll down the bustling main street, adorned with artisan shops, before arriving at Salento's main park to wrap up this enriching 8-hour experience.
