Day Trip to El Rey National Park
Description
This excursion to El Rey National Park offers an exciting opportunity to explore one of northern Argentina's most stunning yungas jungles, a haven of natural beauty.
Tour Highlights
We'll commence our journey from your hotel in Salta, departing in the morning for the eastern region of Anta, where the enchanting El Rey National Park awaits.
As we begin exploring this protected area, you'll be captivated by the vibrant yungas jungles. This lush environment boasts abundant greenery, providing a stunning backdrop for our adventure. We will take to the trails of El Rey National Park, immersing ourselves in the notable botanical diversity that thrives within this splendid locale.
Along our path, you will gain insight into the various native plant species that characterize this ecosystem. Be on the lookout for majestic trees such as tipas, pacarás, pines of the cerro, tarcos, criollo walnut, and cedar trees, which adorn the different layers of the yungas. Each of these trees is often draped with ferns and epiphytes, a hallmark of the jungle environment.
As we traverse the paths, we will also get a glimpse of the wildlife that inhabits El Rey National Park. Conditions permitting, we might spot creatures such as collared peccaries, brown brocket deer, tapirs, river otters, or even pumas. After admiring the diverse fauna, we will take a break for a picnic lunch amidst the serene surroundings. The picnic will include a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a slice of cake, and two bottles of mineral water.
Upon concluding our exploration and enjoying our meal, we will make our way back to Salta, with an expected return to your hotel approximately 12 hours after our departure.
