Description
If you enjoy the art of cooking, this culinary workshop in Salta offers an excellent opportunity to master one of the most cherished Argentine dishes under the guidance of a skilled chef. Join us to uncover the techniques for kneading, stuffing, and baking these traditional treats!
Details of the Cooking Workshop
We will convene at the designated hour at the entrance of Alto Noa Shopping. From this shopping center, we will stroll towards Melchora restaurant, where our cooking adventure begins.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, a talented local chef will be ready to guide us through the process of creating genuine empanadas from Salta. Before we dive into cooking, we will explore the background and cultural significance of this beloved dish, an integral part of northern Argentina's culinary heritage. Empanadas are a staple at peñas, festivals, and various family gatherings.
Following a brief introduction, we will prepare the essential ingredients: onions, potatoes, eggs, and various spices. Once we collect and measure everything needed, we’ll learn how to knead, stuff, and seal the empanadas. You will gain insight into the best techniques for success!
Next, we will focus on baking the empanadas, paying meticulous attention to timing, which is crucial for achieving the perfect dish. After cooking, we will allow them to cool briefly before savoring our freshly made empanadas. This delightful moment will be complemented by a choice of wine or mineral water.
The workshop will conclude with a 2.5-hour experience, during which you will receive a certificate of participation and a digital recipe book, enabling you to recreate Argentine culinary delights at home.
