Salinas Grandes Day Trip

Day Trip Overview

Your adventure commences from the heart of Salta between 6:30 am and 7:10 am. Heading north, we will traverse through the picturesque towns of Yala, Volcán, and Tumbaya, making our way to the renowned Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of the Seven Colors). A stop at a scenic viewpoint in Purmamarca will allow you to gaze upon this magnificent multicolored mountain.

Continuing on our journey, we will navigate through the Cuesta del Lipán, Cuesta del Saladillo, and the Abra de Porterillos. During the trip, keep an eye out for the native wildlife, including vicuñas and llamas. Don’t forget your camera! Our ascent will take us to altitudes exceeding 13,000 ft above sea level, where the stunning Salinas Grandes salt flats await your exploration.

Once we arrive, you will have a leisurely 45 minutes to wander through the radiant salt deposits at your own pace. The vivid white of the salt contrasts beautifully with the clear blue sky above. Afterward, we will head back to the historic city center of Purmamarca, where you are welcome to sample renowned local dishes (not included in the tour).

The day's adventure concludes as we return to Salta, arriving in the city center approximately at 7:30 pm.

Pickup Information

The excursion includes collection from hotels located in central Salta. For those staying in more distant locations, we will arrange for pickup at the designated meeting point: 45 Buenos Aires Street.

Additionally, please be aware that during the high season, pickups from hotels are not feasible. In such cases, we will meet at another designated point in Salta: Calle Belgrano, 550, located just behind the Cathedral. If this situation arises, our local team will ensure that you are informed well ahead of time.
