Excursion with favela lunch (6 hours)
Upon being collected from your hotel, we will commence this African Culture Tour in Salvador de Bahía at the Rio Vermelho promenade. Here, we will visit the sacred altar dedicated to the African goddess Yemanja, which holds great significance for the local fishing community.
Our upcoming destination will be Dique do Tororó, where you can capture stunning images of the remarkable African statues that emanate an aura of mystery and enchantment. Next, we will immerse ourselves in the lively Feira de São Joaquim market, recognized as Intangible Heritage in Salvador. This bustling market features numerous traditional stalls where you can explore the aromas and tastes of Africa. Additionally, we will have the chance to sample the renowned acarajé, a delectable Brazilian specialty.
Afterward, we will visit the Candomblé Sacred Temple, where we will learn about the rich traditions and customs of the Ewé-fon African religion. Our journey will continue with a visit to a favela in the area, where we will partake in a delicious meal prepared by community members.
The menu will feature a traditional dish, with options such as fish or prawn stew, beef fillet, or fried fish, all served with rice, beans, and farofa. Following our meal, we will transport you back to your hotel in Salvador.

Excursion with feijoada with a local family (7 hours)
Choosing this option, we will initiate the African Culture Tour in Salvador de Bahía in the Pelourinho neighborhood, a designated World Heritage Site.
In this charming area, we will visit the Afro-Brazilian Museum to gain insights into the local culture. Afterwards, we will journey to the Ferroviario Neighborhood to uncover the narratives of slave descendants.
Next, we will either visit the Memorial das Baianas or the Carnival Museum, subject to availability. Both venues are ideal for deepening our understanding of the traditions in Salvador de Bahía. Following this, we will go to the famous Lacerda Elevator, which links the Upper City to the Lower City.
Subsequently, we will make our way to Mercado Modelo, a key landmark showcasing how goods and food were historically stored. Furthermore, the market is rich in legends and tales related to slavery in El Salvador that are sure to resonate.
The tour continues in the Lower City, specifically to Salvador’s Subúrbio Ferroviário neighborhood, where we will explore the Laje Museum. As the culmination of our tour, we will visit the residence of an Afro-Brazilian family, where we will share a delightful feijoada lunch. Depending on availability, the meal will be served in the Garcia neighborhood or in Salvador’s Subúrbio Ferroviário.
Following our lunch, we will facilitate your return to the hotel in Salvador.
