If you enjoy exploring new tastes, join us for a cooking experience in Salvador de Bahía where you will create traditional Afro-Brazilian cuisines alongside a local family, providing you with an unforgettable opportunity!

Activity Overview

We will start by picking you up from your accommodation in Salvador de Bahía at the designated time, ready to embark on this delightful journey of culinary discovery. Are you excited to learn how to prepare Brazil's iconic dishes? Let’s dive in!

Our first destination is the Fish Market, where we'll select some essential ingredients for our cooking session. While we explore, we’ll discuss the traditional recipes native to the Bahía region and learn about the best fish options for each dish, particularly the renowned moqueca, an Afro-Brazilian classic that we will be preparing together.

Next, we’ll visit the Rio Vermelho Market to gather fresh produce to complement our selections. We'll also shop for fruits that will be used to prepare a genuine caipirinha. Fun fact: the cocktail's name is derived from the caipiras, the indigenous inhabitants of the rural regions of São Paulo.

After we finish shopping, we'll head to the home of a local Afro-Brazilian family. There, we’ll receive a warm welcome before stepping into the kitchen to start our culinary activities. Once our creations are complete, it will be time to savor our own culinary efforts!

While enjoying dishes like fish moqueca, feijão fradinho, and caipirinha, we will also have beans, rice, farofa, and plantain jam as side dishes. This is your chance to indulge in the diverse flavors characteristic of Afro-Brazilian cuisine!

At the conclusion of our 5-hour exploration, we will return to our starting point.

Flexible Tour Options

You can select from various options when making your reservation:

• Experience without pickup or guide: For this option, you will head directly to the residence of the Afro-Brazilian family to partake in the culinary experience together. Please be aware that this choice does not come with hotel pickup or a guiding service. The family communicates solely in Portuguese, and the duration of the experience is 3 hours.
• Experience without pickup but with a guide: We will convene directly at the family home, where an English-speaking guide will accompany you. This tour lasts between 3 and 4 hours.
• Experience with pickup and guide: This is the most inclusive choice, offering both transportation to and from your hotel, an English-speaking guide, an exploration time of 5 hours, and the full schedule outlined previously.
