Tour Overview

This tour will take you through some of the most iconic locations in the Historic Center. We will wander along Rua Chile, touted as Brazil's most ancient street, where colonial architecture harmonizes with the vibrant life of the modern city. Our path will also lead us to Praça da Sé, a significant crossroads bursting with monuments, cultural vibrancy, and lively street scenes that narrate the city's storied past.
Our itinerary includes a visit to Terreiro de Jesus, one of Pelourinho's pivotal squares, surrounded by monuments and churches that exemplify Salvador's architectural and religious heritage. Close by, we will encounter the São Francisco complex, noted for showcasing exquisite Brazilian Baroque architecture.
As we meander through Pelourinho, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy the vibrant streets celebrated for their art, music, and cultural dynamism. This area is imbued with the spirits of Olodum and other significant global cultural movements that have contributed to Salvador's distinct identity.
We will also visit the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, a crucial landmark established by Black communities, representing faith, history, and the spirit of resilience at the heart of the old town. Notably, this site was also featured in Michael Jackson's music video They Don’t Care About Us!
