Private Excursion to Saloum Delta

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Saly, followed by a drive south towards the Saloum Delta National Park. After approximately an hour and a half of travel, we will arrive at the traditional fishing village of Ndangane. Here, we will park the vehicle and embark on a motorized canoe that will navigate through the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As we glide through the tranquil waters of the Sine and Saloum rivers, which nourish the Delta, you'll admire beautiful salt marshes, canals, and mangrove swamps. If fortune favors us, we might be greeted by stunning avian life, including pelicans, herons, cormorants, and kingfishers.

Subsequently, we will pause at one of the local restaurants in the park area, where you can enjoy a delightful traditional meal at your leisure (not included). After this break, we will visit a tribal village inhabited by the Niominka people, an ethnic group whose lives revolve around the fishing economy along the delta.

Once we gather insights into their rich traditions and customs, we will commence our journey back to Saly.
