PADI Open Water Diving Course
Description
If you find yourself in San Andrés and wish to obtain your official diving certification, the PADI Open Water Course is an ideal choice. Over the span of 3 days, you'll have the opportunity to dive globally to depths of 18 metres (60 feet) and explore the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Colombian Caribbean.
Course Options
Upon reserving your PADI Open Water Course, you can select between two options. In either case, the program encompasses 3 days that combine virtual theory classes and practical exercises, both of which must be successfully completed. After booking, visit the diving center to receive your credentials for the online learning platform. This certification will enable you to dive worldwide up to a maximum of 18 metres (60 feet).
Basic Course
On the scheduled day, we will pick you up from your accommodation in San Andrés and transport you to the diving center where the theoretical aspects will be covered. If you opt for the PADI Open Water Basic Diving Course, you will learn essential skills such as floating techniques and how to control your breathing underwater.
During the first day, the instructor will guide you through the process of donning and doffing your diving gear, as well as demonstrate the proper techniques for entering and exiting the water. You will also acquire knowledge on how to use the equipment correctly and practice fundamental skills underwater. Following the theoretical instruction, you will embark on your first dive in open water, descending to a depth of 10 metres (33 feet) for approximately 35 to 45 minutes.
On the second day, you will participate in two additional open water dives, each lasting between 35 minutes to an hour. This segment of the PADI course is designed to enhance your underwater autonomy.
On the final day, after donning your wetsuit, you will have the chance to demonstrate your newly acquired diving abilities by undertaking a dive to 18 metres (60 feet).
Upon completion of this practical training, and if you have also successfully fulfilled the online components, you will be prepared to receive your official PADI Open Water Certificate.
Advanced Course
Your pick-up from your hotel in San Andrés will occur at the designated time as we take you to the diving center for an overview of essential diving techniques. Should you decide on the Advanced PADI Open Water course, the theoretical classes and practical exercises will mirror those of the basic course over the span of 3 days; however, the final dive will instead align with one of the specialty options offered.
You may select from the following specialties:
- Deep dive
- Night dive
