Available Tour Options

During the booking process, you can select from two options. Both tours feature a guide fluent in Spanish. Below are the specifics of each:

Cayo Acuario (5.5 hours)

We will convene at the dock of the Casa de la Cultura in San Andrés at the scheduled time. From there, we will board a boat to traverse the southern bay, providing you the chance to see the area's unique mangroves. Keep an eye out! This region is home to numerous iguanas, lizards, and a rich variety of endemic bird species.

Following our exploration of the mangroves, we will navigate towards Cayo Acuario, also recognized as Rose Cay or “the Aquarium”, celebrated as one of San Andrés’ most stunning cays. Its intriguing name comes from the diverse and plentiful fish that inhabit these waters.

You will enjoy approximately 2 hours of free time to experience Cayo Acuario at your leisure or relax on the sandy shores of this charming isle. If you wish, a visit to Cayo Haynes, a small islet with stalls offering local cuisine for lunch, is also an option.

After a delightful day spent in the transparent waters of San Andrés, we will return to the pier, concluding our tour 5.5 hours after the initial departure.

Cayo Acuario & Johnny (6 hours)

Are you keen to explore more of San Andrés’s stunning cays? If so, we’ll gather at the scheduled time at the Marina Toninos dock. Once aboard, we will sail to Cayo Haynes, where you will have 1.5 hours of free time. During this period, you might also wish to take a brief excursion to Cayo Acuario and admire its crystalline waters and vividly colored fish!

Afterward, we will sail north for 30 minutes in pursuit of the renowned Johnny Cay. Welcome to one of the most remarkable marine reserves in San Andrés! Upon arrival, we will spend 2.5 hours in this picturesque locale, exploring its expansive, shallow beaches and coral trails while observing iguanas in their natural environment. You will feel like you've stepped into paradise!

As hunger strikes, we will provide you some free time to enjoy lunch at one of the beach bars on the island. You'll also have ample opportunity to unwind, sunbathe, and relax on the beach.

To conclude our adventure, we will make our way back to the departure dock, bidding farewell to a memorable Caribbean escapade.

Time & Meeting Point

The meeting point is at the dock of the Casa de la Cultura (https://maps.app.goo.gl/LfQfe269irJgAYi89). Please be here at least 15 minutes before the activity begins.

What if The Weather is Bad?

This activity is subject to weather conditions. If the weather changes before or during the activity and it must be canceled for safety reasons, no refund will be issued.

Please note that sudden weather changes are very common in the Caribbean islands.

Additional Info

On the day of the activity, you will need to pay the dock entrance tax in cash (5,000COP).
It is recommended to bring cash for any additional services NOT included in the tour, such as the use of public restrooms, rental of chairs and umbrellas, snorkel masks, and lockers.
We also recommend bringing fully waterproof bags, some snacks and bottled water, and water shoes instead of flip-flops.
Please note that this activity is not recommended for people with back problems or for pregnant women.
