Montebello Lakes & El Chiflón Waterfalls Adventure

After being collected from your accommodation in San Cristóbal de las Casas at 8 am, the journey will begin towards the Lagunas de Montebello National Park. Following approximately two and a half hours of travel, you will arrive at a remarkable natural wonder of the area: the El Chiflón Waterfalls, situated near the Sumidero Canyon.

Your first stop will be at the renowned El Chiflón Ecotourism Center, where you will visit the iconic El Chiflón Waterfall. Here, you can ascend the 800 steps to the waterfall's summit to take in the spectacular views.

Your exploration will also lead you through the jungle for roughly a mile, allowing you to visit several breathtaking waterfalls, including El Suspiro, standing at 80 feet (25 meters), Ala de Angel, which soars over 98 feet (30 meters), and Velo de Novia, boasting an impressive drop of more than 400 feet (120 meters). The striking turquoise hues of the waters will leave you in awe!

The adventure continues with a leisurely stroll around the Montebello Lakes for about an hour and a half. In this area, you will encounter various lagoons displaying a spectrum of colors and shades, varying from turquoise to black, influenced by the vibrant flora nearby.

After spending a full day immersed in this stunning natural landscape in the heart of Mexico, you will make your way back to downtown San Cristóbal de las Casas by 8 pm.
