Tour Overview

Join us on a captivating journey through Liberty Station in San Diego, where you will explore the rich legacy of the US Navy at an authentic former naval training site. Our meeting point for this engaging excursion will be en el Liberty Public Market.

Following a short orientation, we will begin our exploration of what was formerly known as Camp Paul Jones located in Point Loma. During this segment, you will gain insights into the rigorous training and esteemed journey of becoming a sailor in the US Navy.

Our next stop will be the historical dispensary, a place where recruits received essential medical care. The tour also includes visits to notable sites within Liberty Station such as the Sail Ho golf course and the WAVES barracks, where women were trained who enlisted in the Volunteer Emergency Service back in 1943.

As we continue the journey, we will stroll through other significant structures of this naval base, ultimately arriving at the Command Center. Here, you will have the opportunity to view an exhibit illustrating the daily life of enlisted personnel.

Additionally, our visit will encompass key locations such as Ingram Plaza, Boats Memorial, and Preble Field.

After immersing ourselves in 2.5 hours of naval history in San Diego, we will conclude our tour back at the starting location.
