Our adventure begins at the main entrance of Hacienda Esmeralda, a remarkable cacao plantation in San Francisco de Macoris, at your designated time. Get ready for an engaging exploration!
Upon arrival, enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate as a welcome gesture before we embark on a guided tour of the cacao farm, where you'll uncover the techniques of planting, harvesting, and processing. We'll delve into the important stages of fermentation and drying that follow.
As we roam this beautiful Dominican farm, you'll gain insight into the significance of cacao in local traditions. Remarkably, the Maya and Aztecs were aware of cacao's benefits long ago!
During our journey, we will also stop by the hacienda's boutique to observe the extraction and grinding of cacao seeds. To conclude our tour, participate in a chocolate-making workshop, where you can select a mold to design your own memorable figure. After a delightful two-hour experience, we will wrap up our visit.
