During this guided exploration of North Beach, you will delve into one of San Francisco's most captivating districts. The journey takes you through the highlights of Little Italy, and gives you the opportunity to discover Alcatraz as well!
Details of the North Beach Tour
Our meeting point is at Washington Square, right next to the Volunteer Firefighters Memorial.
From this location, we will embark on a walking journey through the vibrant North Beach area, the essence of Little Italy in San Francisco. Our first stop will be the notable Saints Peter and Paul Church, often referred to as the Italian Cathedral of the West.
Next, we'll pop into Liguria Bakery, a beloved establishment in North Beach that has been crafting exquisite focaccia since 1911. As we continue along Lombard Street, we’ll make our way to the Alcatraz viewpoint, offering splendid vistas of the infamous island alongside the iconic Telegraph Hill.
To round off the tour, we’ll venture to another vantage point to take in the renowned Golden Gate Bridge. After capturing some memorable photos of this landmark, we'll proceed to Pier 39 to observe the sunbathing sea lions, the true celebrities of this location!
The guided tour will conclude at Pier 39 after approximately 1.5 hours.
Visit to Alcatraz Island
If you opt for this addition, at the conclusion of the North Beach tour, we will provide you with a ferry ticket to explore Alcatraz Island independently.
Upon your arrival, you can wander through Alcatraz Prison at your leisure using an audio guide available in English.
Golden Gate Bay Cruise
If you select this option, following the North Beach tour, you can enjoy a 1-hour cruise across Golden Gate Bay. Your booking confirmation will contain essential details regarding the departure time and boarding location, ensuring you savor some of the finest views of San Francisco.

Please keep in mind that a government-issued photo ID is required for every person 18 years and older who books tickets to Alcatraz Island.

To enjoy this experience, you'll need to redeem the voucher that is in that email at the Blue and Gold Fleet ticket booth, located on Pier 41.
