This segment covers 12 kilometers of moderate terrain amidst the stunning biodiversity of Los Quetzales National Park. As we traverse the trail, we will cross a suspension bridge spanning the Savegre River. Observe the unique flora and fauna up close, guided by our knowledgeable leader who will share intriguing insights.
Following a six-hour hike, we will reach Rivera Lodge for lunch. Guests can unwind and enjoy leisure time during the afternoon. Before settling into the cabins, we will partake in a delightful meal of rice, beans, meat, and salad.
Day 2: Providencia de Dota - Betania
A bright start awaits at 5:30 am with breakfast, followed by our departure from the lodge at 6:30 am towards Cerro Vueltas, the starting point for the day’s hike.
Embarking on a 14-kilometer trail through a different section of Los Quetzales, we will revel in the company of majestic oak forests and breathtaking vistas overlooking two of Central America's most pristine river basins.
A pause will be made for a nourishing lunch wrapped in banana leaves. After a full day of eight hours of walking, we will arrive at Betania Lodge for dinner and a night’s rest in tents.
