At your convenience, we will arrange a pickup from your accommodation in San José to start a private tour around the capital city of Costa Rica.
Your adventure will begin at the National Museum of Costa Rica, which features remarkable collections from Central America. As we explore its permanent exhibitions, you’ll encounter a diverse assortment of artifacts from both pre-Columbian and colonial eras, enhancing your understanding of the nation’s rich culture and heritage.
Progressing on our private San José tour, we will visit the former control tower of La Sabana Airport. This site transformed in 1977 into the Museum of Costa Rican Art, where you can admire works by exceptional local talents, including the renowned Juan Manuel Sánchez Barrantes, known for his skills as a sculptor, painter, and musician.
Your guide will then take you to appreciate the stunning entrance of the National Theater of Costa Rica and explore the vibrant Central Market, both celebrated symbols of San José's culture and cuisine. The next stop will be the National Monument of Costa Rica, where you'll learn about the valiant defenders who opposed William Walker's invading forces in the mid-19th century.
In the final part of our journey, we will take in the remarkable façade of the Edificio Metálico and explore the Municipal Arts & Crafts Market. After a fulfilling six hours of exploration, we will conclude the private tour with a return to your accommodation.
