Rainforest Adventure in Braulio Carrillo National Park

Embark on a thrilling journey through the enchanting rainforest of Costa Rica, navigating the Sarapiquí River by boat, exploring the trails of Selva Verde, and soaring above the forest canopy on the aerial tram.

Tour Overview

After picking you up from your accommodation, we'll set off towards the lush expanses of Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the country's most significant natural reserves. This vast area acts as the green heart of San José, sprawling over 47,000 hectares (116,000 acres) and home to around 6,000 plant species and 515 bird species that thrive in harmony.

As we make our way through the verdant rainforest, we will reach the stunning Sarapiquí River, a true natural sanctuary. Here, we’ll embark on a leisurely boat ride, providing us the chance to encounter some of the wildlife typical of this ecosystem, including monkeys, iguanas, and various bird species.

Following our river adventure, we'll proceed to traverse the private pathways of the Selva Verde Eco Lodge. This walking experience takes us deep into the tropical environment, where we'll be joined by toucans, howler monkeys, and white-faced capuchins, further immersing ourselves in the wildlife.

Once we've completed our exploration at Selva Verde, we will enjoy a buffet lunch to replenish our energy.

To conclude this exciting day, we'll take a ride on the renowned aerial tram that glides through the rainforest. This spectacular area, recognized as a precious ecological gem, hosts an impressive range of ecosystems and biodiversity across its 475 hectares (1,173 acres). Keep your eyes open; you might spot anything from jaguars to various snakes during the ride.

At the end of our adventure, we will return you to your hotel in San José.

Meal Information

During our journey, we will savor a buffet lunch featuring traditional Costa Rican cuisine, including salads, two meat options, accompaniments, dessert, natural juices, coffee, tea, and biscuits.
