Our stroll begins along Calle San Francisco, leading us to the church of the same name. Here, we will uncover its fascinating history and the restorations it has undergone over time. Continuing along Calle Tanga and Calle Luna, we will discover the intriguing story of the notable blue cobblestones that grace the quaint streets of Old San Juan. Before you know it, we will arrive at Calle Norzagaray, where breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the lively La Perla neighborhood await us.
Our next destination is the area surrounding the Castillo de San Cristobal, a vital fortress in the Caribbean. We will admire its structure while discussing the historical significance of the fortification's walls. Next, we will pause at the Puerta de la Bandera, where we will explore the evolution of the Puerto Rican flag and have some time for photographs.
Following this, we will visit the Castillo de San Felipe del Morro, where we will delve into its military significance as we admire its facade. If time allows, a brief visit to the Ballajá Barracks will precede our exploration of San José Church and its adjoining square, highlighted by the statue of Juan Ponce de León.
