El Yunque Forest + Bioluminescent Bays Tour

Explore Puerto Rico's lush rainforest and its distinctive bays on this tour that combines a visit to El Yunque Forest with an adventure in bioluminescent bays. A kayak experience is included, allowing you to connect with the beauty of nature!

Tour Overview

The journey begins with your pickup from a selected meeting point, followed by a northbound trip through four picturesque villages, stopping at Luquillo to sample local fruits.

Next, we will arrive at the El Yunque Forest, affectionately known as the "natural wonder of Puerto Rico." Here, you'll stroll along scenic trails, encountering a plethora of wildlife and exotic vegetation. The trail leads you to enchanting waterfalls where you can take a refreshing swim in the natural pools and even enjoy rock jumping. Fresh fruit will also be provided for your enjoyment.

Following this, we will visit a local eatery where you’ll have a 30-minute break to dine at your leisure. After this reprieve, we will regroup and proceed to our next destination, the bioluminescent bays.

Upon reaching Fajardo Bay, you will board a kayak at sunset. Prepare to experience an extraordinary natural phenomenon as we paddle through the Red Mangrove Forest and witness how tiny dinoflagellates illuminate the waters.

During this evening adventure, you will also have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset at Laguna Grande and observe the mesmerizing glow of the aquatic life.

Finally, we will return to San Juan, with an expected arrival at the meeting point by 9:30 pm.

• In Old San Juan: pickup at the Sea Horse statue (the drop-off will be at Plaza Colón)
• In Luquillo, Fajardo, and Humacao: pickup at Walgreens (889 Calle 2, Luquillo, 00773, Puerto Rico)

Participant Requirements

For your safety, it is essential that participants are in good physical condition. This activity is not advisable for elderly individuals or those with mobility challenges due to the uneven paths and muddy areas that require independent navigation.

Moreover, individuals with back problems, epilepsy, heart conditions, or those who are pregnant should refrain from participating.

Lastly, participants weighing over 238 lbs (108 kg) will not be able to join the activity, as the maximum capacity for each kayak is 428 lbs (192 kg).
