Description

Explore the heart of Santa Marta and its surroundings through this exclusive private tour. Immerse yourself in the vibrant heritage of this Colombian city!

Available Tour Options

Upon booking, you'll have the opportunity to select from the following choices. Each tour comes with a dedicated English-speaking guide, ensuring a personal experience without any outside participants:

3-Hour Tour

Your adventure begins with pick-up from your accommodation as we make our way to the Parque de los Novios, a serene urban oasis that encapsulates the essence of Santa Marta. This area is perfect for diving into the city's rich history while strolling through its vibrant gardens and historic statues.

Next, we will visit the Santa Marta Cathedral, known for its stunning neogothic exterior dating back to the late 17th century. Following this, we journey to the Tairona Gold Museum. Are you ready to step back into the era of pre-Columbian excellence?

This museum is established on the grounds of the first Spanish colony in Santa Marta. As we explore its various exhibits, you will discover the cultural heritage of the indigenous tribes from this region, examining artifacts such as metallurgical pieces, exquisite gold jewelry, and everyday items that reflect their way of life.

Afterward, we’ll take a leisurely walk along the boardwalk and Santa Marta Bay, where the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the lively harbor await. Keep an eye out for dolphins that often play near the shore, adding a delightful touch to the end of our tour!

5-Hour Tour

If you wish to delve deeper into this coastal gem, the 5-hour tour option is ideal. This tour follows the same path as the 3-hour version, but after visiting the boardwalk and Santa Marta Bay, our journey continues to Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino. Are you eager to discover its significance?

Upon arrival, we'll explore one of Santa Marta's historic haciendas (estates), which dates back to the 17th century. This site features a colonial mansion, a Museum of Contemporary Art, a botanical garden, and the renowned Altar de la Patria. Take in the stunning colonial architecture surrounded by lush greenery!

Next, we'll visit a lively public market that captures the authentic spirit of Santa Marta. Here, you have the opportunity to purchase local foods and taste regional ingredients. Lastly, we will head to El Rodadero Beach, located north of the Garia district. It's time to unwind and enjoy the spectacular views of the Caribbean and Pelican Island!

8-Hour Tour

For those seeking an even more comprehensive encounter, the 8-hour tour option is available. This option includes all stops from the previous tours before we extend our adventure to either Taganga or Minca. The choice is yours!

If you opt for Taganga, a short 20-minute drive awaits, granting you free time at the beach to relish a meal and savor the coastal breeze with the stunning Taganga Bay backdrop.

Alternatively, choosing to visit the village of Minca involves a 45-minute drive inland. Here, you will breathe in the fresh air of the Sierra Nevada mountains. You can then either visit the Marinka Waterfalls to experience the natural pools surrounded by jungle or tour a coffee farm to learn about Colombian coffee—your decision once again!
