PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Course in Santa Marta
Day 1: Theoretical Lessons and Confined Water Practice
Class begins at the planned hour when you will meet your instructor at the entrance of Divanga Hostel in Santa Marta. After a brief introduction, you'll proceed to the training facilities to receive essential diving gear and familiarize yourself with basic diving concepts.
You will gain knowledge about the functionality of various diving equipment and learn the correct techniques for wearing your gear, maintaining your position underwater, managing the air tanks, and clearing your mask. Additionally, you’ll be instructed on underwater communication.
Following this theoretical session, practice will take place in the swimming pools of the hotel.
Session Start Times: 8 am or 1:30 pm
Days 2 & 3: Open Water Dives
Your second and third days will involve four dives in the open waters of Tayrona Park, set in the beautiful Colombian Caribbean. Equipped with your wetsuit, you'll test your diving abilities and quickly become comfortable in the water.
Experience the crystal-clear waters off Santa Marta as you encounter a rich array of underwater species. Look forward to spotting grouper fish, moray eels, loggerhead turtles, hawksbill turtles, and colorful parrot fish!
As the course wraps up, you’ll take a final assessment to earn your official certification, enabling you to dive to a depth of up to 60 feet (18 meters) anywhere across the globe.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the Divanga Hostel (Cl. 11 #4 corner, Taganga, Santa Marta, Magdalena) at the scheduled time. Please be ready at the meeting point between 10 and 15 minutes early.
