4-Day Tour: Santa Marta, Cabo de la Vela & Riohacha

Day 1: Arrival in Santa Marta

At your designated pick-up time, we will collect you from either the Santa Marta airport or your accommodation before heading towards the El Rodadero area, where you can leave your luggage. Following this, we will board a speedboat for an exhilarating cruise across the Colombian Caribbean, making our way to Playa Blanca.

Once we arrive, a traditional lunch awaits you at a seaside restaurant. The afternoon is yours to unwind at the beach—take a refreshing swim, stroll the sandy shore, or bask in the sun.

In the evening, we’ll return to our hotel for dinner before embarking on a nocturnal tour of Santa Marta. This unique experience will take place in a chiva rumbera, a lively bus that transforms into a mobile disco. Prepare for an exciting night!

Day 2: Santa Marta to Cabo de la Vela

On the second day, we begin our journey into the La Guajira peninsula, which will require a little over six hours of travel. To enhance the experience, we will make several stops. First, we will enjoy breakfast in Palomino, then switch vehicles in Riohacha, continuing part of the route in a 4x4. After traversing Uribia, known as the indigenous capital of Colombia, we will explore the salt flats of Manaure. Are you ready to uncover the intricacies of salt production?

We will then navigate the Ahuyama desert, reaching our destination at Cabo de la Vela. After lunch, an afternoon hike to Pilón de Azúcar, a site of great significance for the Wayú community, will be included, followed by leisure time at Playa Dorada and Playa Ojo de Agua. Dinner will be served back at the hotel, concluding the day.

Day 3: Cabo de la Vela to Riohacha

Following breakfast, we will depart from Cabo de la Vela towards the Mayapo beaches. In this serene area, we will visit the Maliiwala refuge, where you will gain insights into the indigenous traditions of the region. Lunch will be provided, along with some free time to soak up the sun before we head to Riohacha for dinner and our overnight stay.

Day 4: Riohacha to Santa Marta

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will leave the heart of Riohacha and proceed to Los Flamencos Natural Park, situated between the Caribbean Sea and the arid landscapes of La Guajira. Upon arrival, we will take a boat tour to explore the park's lagoons—keep an eye out for wild bird species!

Your tour will conclude with a drop-off at either downtown Santa Marta or the airport, with the alternative option to finish at the Riohacha airfield if preferred.
