Activity Overview

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Santiago and set off towards the magnificent Cajón del Maipo, renowned as one of the most stunning natural sites within Chile's Metropolitan Region.

Approximately one hour later, we will arrive at Casa Bosque, a remarkable restaurant. Designed by Chilean artist Sergio Andrade, this iconic structure harmoniously blends wood and metal in a way that feels like stepping into a fairy tale. Here, we’ll begin with a concise talk about safety and environmental conservation prior to embarking on our hike.

Following this, we will hop back into the vehicle and drive for another hour to reach the trailhead of our hiking journey through Cajón del Maipo. We’ll kick off the hike with a steep ascent lasting 20 minutes, which will reward us with a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley.

Once we reach the plateau, the path levels out, allowing for a leisurely appreciation of the diverse landscapes of the Chilean Andes. The snow-capped summits, crisp air, and the tranquility of nature will accompany us as we approach the Valle El Yeso viewpoint, sitting at an impressive altitude of approximately 3000 meters (9,843 feet).

From this scenic vantage point, you will be treated to incredible views of El Yeso Reservoir alongside the Mesón Alto Glacier, two natural wonders that are sure to astound you.

As part of this enriching experience, we will savor a picnic-style lunch featuring a sandwich and regional delicacies, all while gazing at the majestic beauty of the Andes.

After a well-deserved break and the opportunity to capture memorable photos, we will retrace our route back to the vehicle. Finally, we will head back to Santiago, concluding our journey with a warm farewell at your hotel after a fulfilling 12-hour excursion.
