Activity Details

After picking you up from your hotel in Santiago, we’ll embark on the day trip toward Cajón del Maipó. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes until we arrive at the Cascada de las Ánimas Sanctuary.

Once we arrive at our destination, we’ll lace up our sneakers and head into an easy trail with exciting winding sections. We’ll traverse sclerophyllous forests, remarkable for their ability to thrive in dry climates.

During the 2-hour hike, we’ll navigate hanging bridges suspended over ravines, stopping at crystal-clear waterfalls that cascade with vigor, embodying the spirit of the mountains.

Each step will unveil secrets of this Andean ecosystem. We’ll discuss birds nesting among rocky cliffs, unique plants thriving at high altitudes, and if we’re fortunate, we may see a condor soaring above us.

Stay vigilant, as we may also encounter the growling lizard, an endemic species native to the region. Midway through our hike, we’ll take a break to enjoy fruit, cereal bars, and water, recharging for the journey ahead.

After the hike, we’ll return to our vehicle and proceed to El Cristo Bridge, a geological site rich in the history of the valley’s formation. We’ll uncover narratives of glaciers, eruptions, and the communities that have thrived amid untamed nature.

When hunger arrives, we’ll stop at a local restaurant for a break lasting approximately 1 hour. Finally, we’ll begin our return to Santiago and conclude our day by dropping you off at your hotel after a fulfilling 10-hour adventure.
