Description

Learn how to weave using a handmade loom with this Mapuche textile workshop, utilizing pre-Colombian techniques for a cultural experience.

Activity Details

We will meet at the selected location at the scheduled time and travel to the workshop for a cultural immersion experience. Participants will discover Mapuche textile handicraft traditions.

The activity involves step-by-step guidance in creating your own textile, from warping to final weaving, employing a pre-Columbian technique that is nearly lost. Participants will create a unique, lightweight piece suitable for framing, bookmarks, or decoration as a souvenir.

While engaging in the activity, participants will enjoy typical snacks from Chilean cuisine, including sopaipillas with pebre, and a classic sweet, manjar, with hot drinks like tea, coffee, and herbal infusions. The textile experience will conclude 2.5 to 3 hours later.

Activity with pickup: includes pickup from hotels in Lo Barnechea, Vitacura, Las Condes, Providencia, La Reina, and Ñuñoa. For other locations, alternative meeting points will be arranged.
