Papudo Day Trip + Horse Ride

Embarking on a day excursion to Papudo, you will navigate the Pacific Ocean on a scenic boat tour encircling Lobos Island, followed by a horseback ride along the pristine Los Lilenes beach. Experience the beauty of nature and adventure along the Chilean coastline!

Details of the Day Trip

At the predetermined time, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Santiago and begin our journey to the central coast of Chile. Departing from the lively capital, we’ll embark on a 2-hour drive to Papudo, a picturesque town in the Valparaíso region.

As we travel, you’ll witness the charming valleys, farmlands, and coastal landscapes characteristic of the Chilean coastline. We will make a brief stop of around 30 minutes at a service station for you to grab breakfast and freshen up before we resume our adventure. Ready to continue?

Upon reaching Papudo, we’ll make our way to the pier to board our boat for an adventure across the Pacific Ocean towards Lobos Island, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. This island is celebrated for its rich marine life and diverse coastal bird species.

During this nautical journey, be on the lookout for sea lions basking on the rocks, as well as Humboldt penguins, cormorants, and pelicans soaring high above. With a touch of luck, we may also encounter dolphins or the unique chungungo, a local marine otter. Stay vigilant!

Next, we’ll enjoy a horseback ride along Los Lilenes beach. Over the course of about 40 minutes, we’ll traverse trails that wind through semi-arid hills, ravines, and natural overlooks offering breathtaking views of the vast Pacific Ocean. The scenery will reveal the striking contrast between the Chilean rural landscape and the crashing waves against the shoreline.

To rejuvenate, we will proceed to Chica de Papudo beach, where you will have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch and relaxation before we embark on our return trip.

After bidding farewell, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Santiago, completing a memorable adventure lasting between 10 and 11 hours.

Pickup Details

This excursion includes pickup from hotels located in Santiago, Providencia, and Las Condes. If your accommodation is outside these areas, we will reach out post-booking to confirm an alternative meeting point.

Participation Requirements

Participants must be a minimum of 5 years old to join the horseback riding activity.

Boat Tour Information

Please note that during the winter months, the boat tour may be subject to cancellation due to adverse weather conditions. This doesn’t guarantee a cancellation every time, but it will depend on the situation at that moment.
