Parque Tricao and Viña Undurraga Day Trip

This excursion to Parque Tricao and Viña Undurraga offers a chance to experience two of Chile’s treasures within a single day. You will be immersed in the park's lush environment, featuring an expansive aviary and wetlands reminiscent of Monet’s artistry, alongside the rich heritage of one of the nation's oldest wineries.

Excursion Overview

We'll convene at your chosen location in Santiago to commence our journey. After all participants have arrived, we will board the bus that takes us southwest towards Parque Tricao, a journey of about 2 hours. Let’s begin!

Upon our arrival, we will embark on a 3-hour exploration of this natural park, a protected area spanning over 100 hectares of rich woodland. You will enter one of the largest aviaries in South America, where more than 800 rescued birds soar freely among the canopies and valleys.

We will navigate through this landscape using a network of hanging bridges and trails, ultimately reaching the Giverny Wetland, a site that evokes the renowned gardens of Monet. As we stroll, we will be accompanied by wild ducks, herons, and swans, all set against a backdrop of local flora. We'll also pause at scenic viewpoints and the lagoon's shoreline.

At noon, a light brunch will be served amidst the tranquil surroundings before we proceed to Viña Undurraga, established in 1885 and recognized as a pioneer in Chilean winemaking. During our visit, we will wander through its gardens and vineyards, learn about its storied past, and uncover how age-old traditions blend with modern practices in the winemaking process.

Additionally, you will have the chance to explore elements of Mapuche culture and philosophy, represented through a brief interpretive trail in the winery. To conclude our visit, we will sample four of their finest wines.

Finally, we'll embark on our return journey to the designated meeting point in Santiago, where we will conclude our adventure after a total of 11 hours.
