Excursion Overview

At the agreed time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Santiago and commence this journey northwards, following the renowned international route that leads to the Los Libertadores border crossing. Our destination lies within the Valparaíso region!

Your journey will begin with an ascent into the Andes Mountain Range, reaching the El Salto del Soldado viewpoint, where, weather permitting, you will be treated to a glimpse of Cerro Aconcagua, a prominent jewel of South America. Towering at nearly 2,296 ft (7,000 m), it holds the title of the tallest mountain in the Americas. Be sure to capture the breathtaking panoramas!

Three hours after departing Santiago, we will arrive at Portillo, recognized as the oldest ski resort in South America. Established in 1949, this winter sports hub is a hallmark of the region, known for its rich history including being the venue for the only World Ski Championships hosted in the Southern Hemisphere in 1966.

Nearby, the enchanting Laguna del Inca awaits, regarded as one of the Andes' most intriguing spots. Its turquoise waters are framed by magnificent mountains, creating a breathtaking spectacle. In the winter months, the lake can freeze, presenting a stunning scene reminiscent of a fairy tale.

The lake conceals an age-old legend. Folklore tells of the Inca Illi Yupanqui, who, grieved by the loss of his beloved Kora-llé, cast her body into its depths, which then adopted the emerald hue of her eyes.

After approximately 1 hour at the lake, we will begin our return to Santiago, and en route, we'll pause at a local eatery for a meal.

At last, we will drop you off at your hotel, bidding farewell after an enriching experience lasting between 11 to 12 hours.
