Tour Excluding El Yeso Reservoir

After gathering at the designated location in Santiago, we will head southeast towards the Cajón del Maipo. Let’s begin our journey!

Following a one-hour drive, we will reach San José de Maipo, a charming town established in the 17th century with a rich legacy of mining and Andean traditions. We will wander through the Plaza de Armas, taking in the beauty of its colonial buildings and exploring its historic homes.

Our journey continues to a delightful destination: Casa Chocolate, a location that seems to have sprung from a fairy tale. Aside from admiring its distinct facade crafted from recycled materials, visitors will have the chance to sample delicious artisan chocolate made from local ingredients, an ideal treat for the chilly Andean weather!

After a 30-minute stay at this enchanting spot, we will return to our vehicle for a 40-minute ride to El Morado Lodge, a cozy retreat situated amidst the mountains, where we will be greeted with a refreshing pisco sour, a glass of sparkling wine, or water.

We will then indulge in a delightful lunch featuring beef shank in a red wine vegetable broth served with mashed potatoes, as well as goat cheese drizzled with cranberry and carmenere sauce alongside wild berries. Alternatively, enjoy grilled salmon with caper sauce, served with cilantro rice and arugula.

Thereafter, you will have 2.5 hours of leisure time to unwind in both the indoor and outdoor thermal pools, where a truly magical atmosphere awaits. Feel the tranquility of the pure Andean air embracing you.

Finally, we will make our way back to the meeting point in Santiago, concluding our experience after a total of 10 hours.

Tour Including El Yeso Reservoir

If you choose the option that includes a visit to El Yeso Reservoir, and after the same guided visit to San José de Maipo, we will proceed to a local café, Adicción del Maipo, famous for its artisan chocolates.

Instead of heading to Casa Chocolate, we will visit the stunning El Yeso Reservoir, nestled within the Cajón del Maipo. Here, surrounded by the majestic Andes Mountains at an altitude exceeding 2,500 m (8,202 ft), we will embark on a panoramic walk to fully appreciate the breathtaking landscape while inhaling the crisp mountain air.

After our walk, we will be treated to a delightful outdoor brunch featuring seasonal regional dishes, all while enjoying the spectacular views of the Metropolitan Region.

The itinerary continues with a stop at Santuario del Río Lodge and Spa, where we will be welcomed with a pisco sour. A traditional Chilean cuisine lunch will be served, paired with wine or your beverage of choice. Lastly, you will have the chance to indulge in a relaxing spa session and soak in hot tubs, all set within a breathtaking natural backdrop.

We will conclude this 10-hour day trip with a return to our meeting point in Santiago.

Please be aware that the visit to El Yeso Reservoir is unavailable during the southern winter, specifically from mid-May to late September.
