Camino de Santiago: The Final Stage
Description
Walk the final stage of the French Way of the Camino de Santiago, trekking from Lavacolla and Monte do Goza to the famed Praza do Obradoiro - a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Camino de Santiago: The Final Stage
Meet at the scheduled time on Rúa de Tras Salomé, where you will board a comfortable vehicle to the A Coruña town of Lavacolla.
Upon arrival in this picturesque town, you will receive a hat, a trekking pole, and a map to embark on the final section of the Camino de Santiago (also known as St. James' Way). This experience allows you to enjoy the breathtaking surroundings at your own pace.
Departing from the church in Lavacolla, your journey will take you towards Monte do Gozo. Here, you'll catch your first glimpse of the cathedral in Santiago, where your guide will await to provide details about the route and the historical significance of the location. You will see various figures representing Pope John Paul II, alongside two giant statues of pilgrims that direct you towards Santiago. This signifies the final stretch!
After the informative session at Monte do Gozo, continue your trek toward Santiago. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you again, this time at the Praza do Obradoiro. Congratulations on completing the journey!
Following further insights into the history of this monumental square, you will receive a certificate confirming that you've completed this stage of the Camino. The pilgrimage tour concludes at the Holy Door of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela after a total duration of 3 to 3.5 hours.
