Santiago de Compostela Small-Group Guided Tour
Description
This guided exploration of Santiago de Compostela invites you to discover the remarkable landmarks of the city, including the renowned Praza do Obradoiro and the scenic Parque de Alameda, all within a small group limited to 15 participants.
Tour Overview
If you have yet to experience Santiago de Compostela, we will gather at the historic Praza do Obradoiro at the scheduled time to embark on a tour through the heart of the Galician capital, ensuring a personal touch with a maximum of 15 attendees.
The journey will take us through significant sites of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will first admire the grand Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, an 18th-century masterpiece known as a vital pilgrimage destination serving as the final stop on the Camino de Santiago.
Our next destination is the Pazo de Raxoi, showcasing striking elements of 18th-century French Neoclassicism. Following this, we'll explore the splendid Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, celebrated for its Plateresque architecture and currently functioning as the Parador de Santiago de Compostela.
Continuing our journey, we will traverse the squares that adjoin the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, specifically Praza da Quintana, which is uniquely segmented into the Praza da Quintana de Vivos and the Praza da Quintana de Muertos. The intriguing history surrounding this division will be revealed to you. Our next stop will be Praza das Platerías, a location steeped in mystery and stories that linger in the minds of its visitors.
As we proceed, the University of Santiago de Compostela will serve as a point of interest before we meander to Rúa do Franco, widely regarded as the premier area for enjoying tapas in the city.
In the concluding portion of our tour, we will visit As Marías, also recognized as Las dos Marías, an iconic sculpture located in the Parque da Alameda de Santiago de Compostela. This tribute to two sisters symbolizes resilience and liberty, imprinting a lasting significance on the city's cultural landscape.
After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of exploration, we will reconvene at our initial meeting point to conclude the tour.
