Activity Overview

We will gather at the specified time at the Regional Museum of Santiago de Querétaro, where we will set off in an off-road vehicle toward the El Redentor opal mine.

After approximately a 1.5-hour journey, we will reach the mine and delve into the fascinating process of opal extraction, polishing, and finishing. It’s noteworthy that Querétaro is famously recognized as the origin of opal production in Mexico. This stunning mineral, celebrated for its brilliant hues, has been sourced since pre-Hispanic times—you'll learn all about it as we explore!

Following our visit to the mines, we will make our way to the Viña TX vineyard, situated in Tequisquiapan. Here, a guided tour will take you through the intricate details of the winemaking process and share the history of one of the most enchanting family-run vineyards in the area. As part of the experience, we'll enjoy a tasting of local cheeses paired with a glass of wine from Querétaro.

After indulging in this oenological adventure, you will have an hour of leisure time in Tequisquiapan for lunch. You may also wish to wander the picturesque cobblestoned streets of this charming Pueblo Mágico, rich in history and culture, and see the sites that have borne witness to significant figures in Mexican history.

Once you've refreshed, we’ll begin our return journey to Santiago de Querétaro, wrapping up the day around 10 hours after the initial pickup.
