Seattle Sightseeing Bus

Upon boarding the Seattle Sightseeing Bus at one of the 20 designated stops throughout the city, you'll embark on a panoramic journey through Washington's largest urban area. Ready to start? The route allows you to customize your experience by getting on and off the bus at any stop, focusing your visit on specific monuments and sights that fascinate you.

This bus service comes equipped with an audio guide in English, offering insights as you discover one of the most vibrant cities in the United States. For additional language support, you can access commentary in Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean by downloading an official app to your smartphone. The app also includes a live map tracking the route, shows the nearest bus stop, and provides updates on the arrival times of upcoming buses.

Seattle is a hub of technology and innovation, being the home of Microsoft and home to the striking Space Needle. Curious about its height or the purpose behind its construction? These details will be unveiled during your sightseeing tour!

Along the way, you will uncover Japan Town and Chinatown and enjoy a leisurely stroll through Occidental Park.

Departure Points and Stops

You can commence your journey from any stop, although the first stop (Space Needle) is situated at 398 Broad St (on Broad St near the Space Needle loop, at the intersection with John St, opposite the McDonald's at KOMO Plaza).

Note: On Saturdays from June 6 to October 31, due to street closures, Stop 18 will be temporarily relocated to the front of the Via 6 building, located at the west corner of 6th Ave and Lenora St (to the right side of the street).

How It Works

Your ticket will remain valid for either 24 or 48 hours following its first use, depending on the option you choose. For instance, if you first utilize a 48-hour ticket on a Monday at 3 pm, it will be valid until Wednesday at 3 pm. During this period, you can hop on and off the buses at will, enabling you to experience Seattle's iconic must-see attractions.

While you will be required to select a starting date when booking, you can activate the service at any point within 3 months of the chosen date.

Your sightseeing bus ticket grants you access to a complimentary walking tour along with a downloadable audio guide for the Pike Place Market area.

Your City Sightseeing ticket entitles you to a 10% discount at the following dining establishments:

Bus Schedule & Frequencies

The Seattle sightseeing bus runs year-round with the following hours in 2026:

  • From November 1 to April 16: 10 am to 3 pm, every 60 minutes
  • April 17 to June 26: 10 am to 4 pm, every 30 minutes
  • June 27 to September 6: 10 am to 5 pm, every 20 minutes
  • September 7 to October 31: 10 am to 4 pm, every 30 minutes
  • Memorial Day weekend (May 23 and 24): 10 am to 5 pm, every 20 minutes

24-Hour Sightseeing Bus Ticket + 1-Hour Harbor Boat Ride

Selecting this option allows you to enjoy a 24-hour sightseeing bus ticket coupled with a 1-hour boat tour around the harbour.

The boat will depart from Pier 55. During the journey, you will be informed about the history of one of the largest maritime terminals on the United States’ West Coast, situated along Elliott Bay.

From the boat, you’ll witness some of Seattle’s most iconic sites, including the stunning Space Needle, the Smith Tower, and the Olympic Sculpture Park. Additionally, you will glimpse the peaks of the Cascade Mountain range and other distant mountains. After the hour-long cruise, you’ll return to the original pier to conclude the trip.

  • Until March 12, 2026: daily departures at 10:45 am, 12:05 pm, 1:25 pm, and 2:45 pm
  • From March 13 to May 22: Monday to Thursday, departures at 10:45 am, 12:05 pm, 1:25 pm, 2:45 pm, and 4:05 pm; Friday to Sunday, at 10:45 am, 12:05 pm, 1:25 pm, 2:45 pm, 4:05 pm, and 5:25 pm
  • May 23 to 25: departures at 10:45 am, 12:05 pm, 1:25 pm, 2:45 pm, 3:20 pm, 4:05 pm, 4:40 pm, 5:25 pm, 6 pm, and 7:20 pm
  • May 26 to June 11: daily departures at 10:45 am, 12:05 pm, 1:25 pm, 2:45 pm, 4:05 pm, and 5:25 pm

48-Hour Sightseeing Bus Ticket + 1-Hour Harbor Boat Ride

This option offers the same benefits as the previous one, but the Seattle sightseeing bus ticket is valid for an extension of 48 hours.

24-Hour Sightseeing Bus Ticket + 2-Hour Cruise Through the Ballard Locks

With this option, you’ll secure a 24-hour ticket for the Seattle sightseeing bus along with a 2-hour cruise through the Ballard Locks.

You can start from one of two departure points:

  • Pier 54, situated in Seattle Harbour on the shores of Elliott Bay
  • AGC Marina, positioned adjacent to Lake Union

Setting sail from your chosen location, we will navigate to the Ballard Locks. This system of locks, named after engineer Hiram M. Chittenden, links Puget Sound with the waters of Lake Washington.

Because the strait and the lake have different water levels, these lock chambers facilitate boats' movement between varying sections. You'll witness this fascinating process live!

Here is the cruise schedule for 2026:

  • Until March 8, 2026: departure at 12:30 pm, with Thursday and Saturday trips going from Elliott Bay to Lake Union, and Friday and Sunday trips from Lake Union to Elliott Bay.
  • From March 12 to June 11 and from July 8 to October 25: departure times are 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, with 10:30 am trips from Elliott Bay to Lake Union and 1:30 pm trips from Lake Union to Elliott Bay.

48-Hour Sightseeing Bus Ticket + 2-Hour Cruise Through the Ballard Locks

This option mirrors the previous offering but provides a 48-hour ticket for the Seattle sightseeing bus.

Important information

Sightseeing Bus

This booking confirmation can be used to access the sightseeing bus at any of its stops.

Main departure point (Stop 1 - Space Needle): 398 Broad St (on Broad St, next to the Space Needle loop at the intersection with John St, across from the McDonald’s at KOMO Plaza).

Stop 18: Every Saturday from June 6 through October 31, Stop 18 moves to the front of the Via 6 building, at the west corner of 6th Ave and Lenora St (on the right side of the street).

Your ticket will be valid for 24 or 48 hours from the time of first use, depending on which option you have selected. So, for example, if you first use a 48-hour ticket on a Monday at 3 pm, it will be valid until Wednesday at 3 pm.

Although when making the reservation you were asked to specify a date to use the ticket, it can be used at any point during the 3 months following the indicated date.

Audio Guide and Languages: The bus features recorded commentary in English over the speakers. You can download the official app to your phone and bring your own headphones to listen to the tour in Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. The app also offers an interactive map and real-time tracking of the bus.

The ticket includes an audio-guided walking tour of Pike Place Market and a 10% discount at Superkim Kitchen & Bar (Stop 7), Tidal+ Restaurant (Stop 12), Andare Restaurant (Stop 12), and Qial Lin Hotspot (Stop 12) when you show your ticket.

2-Hour Cruise Through the Ballard Locks

For this trip, you must choose one of these two departure points:

  • Pier 54, located in Seattle Harbour, on the shores of Elliot Bay
