Our journey commences at the predetermined location in the vibrant old town, marking the beginning of our complimentary exploration of Segovia. As we wander through the historic heart of Segovia, we will appreciate the stunning architecture of various houses once inhabited by prominent noble families and encounter significant landmarks, which include:
- The Aqueduct of Segovia: this monumental structure is essential to the understanding of the city, and we will start by discussing its remarkable history while admiring its magnificent dual arches, spanning an impressive 16 km (9.9 mi)!
- Mirador de la Canaleja and Casa de los Picos: a standout architectural piece in Segovia.
- Plaza de San Martín: located next to Plaza de Medina del Campo, this square is home to a Romanesque church, the Lozoya tower, and the Casa de Solier, with insights on their historical significance, leading us towards the palace of Enrique IV.
- Plaza del Corpus: serves as the gateway to the old Jewish quarter of Segovia, which was home to the Jewish community until their expulsion in 1492.
- Plaza Mayor: adjacent to the church of San Miguel, where Isabella the Catholic was proclaimed Queen of Castile on December 13, 1474.
