Reasons to Visit Pedraza Castle
Nestled within the historic village of Pedraza, recognized as a Historic Site, this fortress dates back to the 13th century and was later transformed into an exquisite Renaissance palace during the 16th and 17th centuries. The painter Ignacio Zuloaga played a pivotal role in rescuing the castle from decay, turning it into his home and creative space.
Your entry ticket permits access to the castle's enchanting courtyards and interior spaces. Journey through fascinating sections like the cannon tower, the Main Courtyard, and the historic latrines. Each nook unveils significant moments from the legacy of this Segovian stronghold.
Among the most intriguing areas is the Tower of Homage, where Zuloaga resided. Remnants of his belongings are still displayed, allowing visitors to sense the inspiration that fueled the artist's creations. From the tower's height, you can relish stunning vistas of the medieval village of Pedraza and its picturesque landscapes.
To enhance your experience, you'll receive a digital audio guide that you can conveniently download to your smartphone.
