Description

Are you eager to immerse yourself in the history of Korea? This tour of Seoul offers an insightful journey through key areas of the capital, unveiling its rich cultural heritage.

Tour Overview

At the appointed hour, we will collect you from your designated location in Seoul to embark on a journey through Jongno, renowned as the city's cultural heart. This area abounds in temples, palaces, and picturesque alleyways that reflect the true spirit of Korea.

Our first destination is the Jogyesa Temple, a pivotal site in Korean Buddhism. Here, we will spend approximately 20 to 30 minutes absorbing the tranquility of the surroundings, captivated by the golden statues and vibrant lanterns adorning its entrance.

Following this, we will observe the iconic changing of the guard at Gyeongbokgung Palace, a ceremonial display that revives the grandeur of the Joseon dynasty. We will then step inside the palace complex, established in 1395, for a guided tour lasting an hour, which will take us through its exquisite pavilions and royal chambers, highlighting notable sites like Geunjeongjeon and Gyeonghoeru. Did you know this palace boasts over 7,000 rooms?

After our visit, we will dedicate 20 to 30 minutes to the National Folk Museum of Korea, where more than a thousand artifacts illustrating daily life during the Joseon era can be explored. Nearby, a brief stop will allow us to admire the Blue House, the official residence of the South Korean government, providing an opportunity for photographs of its exterior.

We will then continue to the Ginseng Museum, where insights into the significance of this esteemed root in traditional medicine will be shared. Our next stop will be Insadong, a lively district replete with craft shops, food vendors, and tea establishments. Here, you will enjoy around an hour of leisure to explore the locale and have lunch independently.

Refreshed, we will stroll through the bustling Gwangjang Market for roughly 30 minutes, famous for its street food stalls offering mung bean pancakes and kimbap, the traditional Korean rice roll. We will then venture to the Namsangol Hanok village, a historical site that provides a glimpse into the past. A leisurely walk through its quaint streets will immerse you in this reconstructed village, nearly 600 years old.

To conclude this enriching day, we will ascend via the Namsan cable car to Seoul Tower, where breathtaking views await from the observation deck. You will have 40 minutes of free time, allowing you to visit the observatory and take in the expansive 360° view of Seoul.

At the end of our approximately 8-hour adventure, we will wrap up the experience in the vibrant Myeongdong area or close to City Hall, based on your preferences.
