Jeonju & Jangtaesan Day Trip
Description
Join us on a day excursion to Jeonju from Seoul, where we will delve into the beauty of Jeonju Hanok Village, renowned for its vast collection of traditional Korean homes. Make sure to bring your camera along!
Trip Overview
We will gather in the morning at a designated spot in Seoul to embark on our journey to Jeonju Village. A comfortable vehicle will take us on a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Jeollabuk-do Province. Let’s begin our adventure!
Our first destination will be Jeonju Hanok Village, recognized as the largest of its kind in South Korea, where you’ll have 3.5 hours to discover its treasures. Home to over 800 hanoks, or traditional houses, this area beautifully reflects the cultural ethos of the Joseon Dynasty. Witness the unique contrast between historical architecture and modern urban life!
As you stroll through the village, pay attention to the characteristic curved roofs topped with black tiles, known as giwa, which are purposefully designed for ventilation and rain protection. Many of these hanoks are constructed following nature-friendly principles.
Furthermore, you’ll have an hour of free time to experience wearing a hanbok, the quintessential Korean attire, and capture stunning photos against a backdrop of charming wooden structures, craft workshops, and quaint tea houses. We highly encourage you to taste Jeonju's acclaimed bibimbap, a signature Korean dish featuring rice, assorted vegetables, meat, egg, and savory fermented chili paste.
Our next stop will be Jangtaesan, where you can spend 2 hours exploring the captivating redwood forest.
Finally, we will return to the vehicle for our drive back to Seoul, concluding the trip at the same meeting point after a total of 12.5 hours.
