Alternative Tour of Seville
Description
Experience Seville as a local and uncover its hidden gems. This unique tour invites you to explore the lesser-known landmarks and secret spots of the Andalusian capital.
Guided Alternative Tour of Seville
Our journey begins at the designated time in Plaza de la Encarnación, where we will embark on an exploration of Seville's more unconventional attractions.
Led by our knowledgeable guide, we will venture towards the northern part of the city center, steering clear of the more crowded tourist paths to embrace the authentic essence of Seville. We’ll discover the intriguing origins of the Setas de Sevilla, also known as the Mushrooms of Seville, before appreciating the distinct architecture of this notable structure. Following this, our path will take us along Calle Feria to the historic Church of San Juan de la Palma, recognized as one of the city's oldest houses of worship.
Next, we will make our way to the Palace of the Marquises of Algaba, conveniently located near the Church of Omnium Sanctorum, where we will delve into the rich medieval history of Seville.
Our adventure then leads us to the Macarena neighborhood, where we will visit the Basilica de la Macarena, the home of one of the most renowned brotherhoods during the Sevillian Holy Week. Adjacent to this site, we will observe the Macarena Arch, a beautifully preserved entrance of the ancient city wall.
Continuing our journey, we will explore the remnants of the Cardo Máximo, walking through the charming Plaza del Pimarejo and viewing the picturesque Church of Santa Marina, alongside the impressive Church of San Luis de los Franceses, a highlight of Sevillian baroque architecture. Our next notable stop is the Church of San Marcos, which sets the stage for one of the tour's major highlights: the exquisite Palacio de Dueñas.
Inside the palace, once the private home of the Duchess of Alba, we will explore its lush gardens and ornate rooms. After a comprehensive exploration of the city, our tour will conclude three hours later.
