Description

Explore one of Seville's most emblematic districts with this guided experience in Triana. Often referred to affectionately as the 'Independent Republic of Triana' by locals, many residents claim to have never ventured into the city center!

Tour Overview

At the scheduled time, we will assemble in the heart of Seville to commence our walking tour through the renowned Triana district.

The journey begins as we cross the Guadalquivir River, leading us into this vibrant neighbourhood of the Andalusian city. Upon arrival, we'll delve into its rich history: did you know it was once the home of sailors, bullfighters, and flamenco artists?

Strolling along the colorful and lively streets, we'll pause to appreciate the chapel of Los Marineros, the revered site of the Hermandad de la Esperanza de Triana brotherhood. Our tour will also take us to the stunning façade of the Royal Parish Church of Santa Ana, which has stood since 1276.

Along the way, we'll get to know notable Trianeros, including Rodrigo de Triana, who was part of Christopher Columbus's expedition to the Americas. We will also uncover the story of Bartolomé de las Casas and Melchor Rodríguez García, both of whom emerged from this historic community, with Rodríguez García becoming known as the "Red Angel" during the Spanish Civil War.

After about 1.5 to 2 hours, we'll conclude our exploration near the iconic Isabel II Bridge, a key landmark of Triana.
