Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium Tour
Description
For football enthusiasts, a visit to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Sevilla offers a chance to explore the rich history of this iconic venue.
History of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium
Originally named the old Nervión, this stadium has been home to Sevilla FC since its establishment in 1928, a name it retained until 1958, when on September 7 it adopted its current designation.
Constructed to accommodate the evolving landscape of football, the stadium has been the scene of countless victories and some heart-wrenching losses. An interesting tidbit: the Spanish national team boasts an impressive record here, with no losses, claiming 20 victories and 5 draws.
Discovering the Sevilla FC Stadium
Your adventure at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium commences at the stadium's entrance, where you'll notice it has the capacity to hold 43,883 spectators. This places it among the top 10 largest stadiums in Spain, ranking ninth overall.
Once inside, you'll have the opportunity to navigate this eminent sports facility at your leisure using an audio guide on your mobile device. Your first stop will be the Sevilla FC Museum, which proudly showcases the club’s impressive collection of trophies, including 7 Europa League titles, 5 Copa del Rey trophies, a league championship, and a UEFA Super Cup.
From there, proceed to the anteroom and VIP box, ahead of reaching the press room. Subsequently, you can enter the changing room, where players prepare before matches, during halftime, and after games. This will lead you to the exit tunnel that leads to the pitch, allowing you to immerse yourself in the experience as if you were a player with Sevilla FC.
After exploring for approximately 45 minutes to an hour, the tour will conclude back at the meeting point.
