At the designated time, we will convene in front of the east facade of Holy Trinity Church, the oldest Protestant church in Shanghai. Here, we will embark on our evening tour of the Bund neighborhood, which will delve into the foreign influences that shaped the city following the Treaty of Nanking.

Our journey continues as we admire the impressive Custom House. Its clock tower, inspired by London's Big Ben, has become a symbol of the customs system that propelled Shanghai's commercial growth.

Just a short walk away, we will encounter the Shanghai Steam Navigation Company building, pivotal in river trade during the 19th century. Across the street stands the majestic HSBC building, which was once the epitome of foreign banking in Asia. Crossing the avenue, we will pause in front of the Bank of China, whose architectural style reflects China's economic expansion during the 1930s—a true treasure of financial history!

As we proceed, we will reach the Jardine Matheson building, one of the earliest foreign trading offices in the city. Our next stop will be the Yokohama Specie Bank, highlighting the shifts in the local economy during the Japanese occupation.
