Beginning our journey at 7 am, we will collect you from your accommodation in Sigiriya to embark on a private exploration of the ancient sites at Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, and Medirigiriya. Get ready for an engaging day ahead!
Our first stop will be the archaeological site of Sigiriya, where the renowned Lion Rock stands with its majestic stone-carved claws. This is your chance to ascend to the summit and enjoy spectacular views!
Following this, we will journey to Polonnaruwa, home to some of the most well-preserved archaeological remains in the nation. Did you know that this historic city was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982? As we meander through the remnants, fascinating stories about this ancient capital of the Sinhalese kings will unfold.
Feeling peckish? After exploring Polonnaruwa, we’ll make our way to a nearby dining area where you'll enjoy free time for lunch.
Once refreshed, our adventure continues to the final stop: the ruins of Medirigiriya, a quaint archaeological gem showcasing the distinctive vatadages of Sinhalese design.
Concluding the excursion, we will return you to your hotel in Sigiriya, arriving by around 7 pm.
